I went to the UXZ conference mainly to broaden my horizons. The goals of SEO and UX are often intertwined when creating a website, and for example, when designing a website's information architecture, it is necessary to use the best of both fields. After all, it is in your interest to build a website that is easy to find (SEO) and at the same time easy to use (UX), isn't it? Right from the start, the organizers won me over with a corner with vegan snacks. It continued with the Angelato ice cream stand and … the whole hipster impression was spoiled by the coffee menu, which only included Espresso . Those who wanted to have fun during the conference in ways other than the lectures had the opportunity to take pictures with UX props in the photo corner or guess the flavors of the ice cream at the already mentioned stand. From my point of view, the lectures were not connected by a single line.
UX is a diverse field C Level Executive List and each of the lectures showed it from a slightly different perspective. I was most interested in the following: Jan Hlaváč - Information Architecture, are you afraid of it too? Honza AKA The Ugly Vulture started his lecture with questions. "Who's Afraid of Information Architecture, Hands Up" . No one. "Is there an information architect here?". No one. I would say that almost every visitor to the conference had something to do with the creation of Information Architecture (IA), but no one felt called enough to raise their hand. Honza accompanied this by saying that he knows about 4 information architects everywhere in the Czech Republic. He described the basic role of the IA as: "A bridge between the initial research and data collection and the concrete content produced on the web". He showed how he uses conceptual diagrams at work and advised the client to present information in a more digestible form.
He then described the IA process as: Select information. Prioritize them. Arrange them. Create navigation to them. Validate them. image Information Architecture Source: 50 shades of blue Source Guerilla Research: Myths, tips and tricks The talk showed Guerilla Research (GR) as a quick survey method that is said to be the closest to an in-depth interview. GR will help mainly where we want to verify details , while the respondent does not need to know the entire context. It is suitable, for example, for verifying the functionality of the "add to cart" button. It is ideal to just go out into the streets with a tablet and "hunt" people from the assumed target group.
